I tried multigrain bread for the first time last week. Wandered into Spencer’s Gourmet on MG Road and picked a loaf from their boulangerie that looked mildly interesting. It looked like it had rolled all over an agricultural town on its way to that display case. The first bite, a strong earthy texture, felt alien in my mouth. As I took my time over chewing my first bite thirty two times, I imagined myself to be some sort of a threshing machine. Nothing like bland white bread or the slightly muddy tasting brown bread. I think I like it. Well, with so much to chew for every mouthful, it makes me believe I am eating healthy.
