Strange scene near Nayandhalli junction this morning.
One water tanker was crossing the signal with water spilling onto the road. Not leaking mind you, spilling; leaving serpentine lines of quicksand behind, on the road coated thick with dust from the metro line construction. On the side of the road, there is a slum. The women were lined up with plastic pots and waiting for their turn at the tap. One traffic cop saw the tanker that was flooding the road and requested the driver of the tanker to park by the side of the road so that the women could fill their pots. The driver got into a heated argument with the traffic cop. It looked like he was refusing to give the water to the women for free.
Strange is this world where the driver would rather waste the valuable water, watering mud roads, than put it to good use by giving it to those in need of it, only because he will have to give it for free.
